Project

Indigenous Employment Network

A coalition of employers who are committed to achieving Indigenous employment parity.

About

The national Indigenous Employment Network will bring together a coalition of employers who are committed to achieving employment parity and support them with the tools to increase their Indigenous employment capability.

The mission

While organisations are at different stages in their Indigenous employment journey, many employers aspire to a more systemic and sustainable approach. They have told us they see benefit in sharing experiences and learnings and exploring barriers and opportunities together.

The purpose

Enable employer capability by:

  • Connecting employers, government, Indigenous employment services, and Indigenous Australians;
  • Providing targeted insights, peer learning, and curated educational content through a facilitated network.

The process

In 2021, we are planning senior leader roundtables and two workshops. The first will be focused on building an Indigenous talent pipeline, while the second will be addressing how to build and implement an Indigenous Employment Strategy.

In 2022, we will launch the results of the Indigenous Employment Index in addition to providing other roundtables and workshops exploring culturally safe and inclusive workplaces and leading an Indigenous workforce.
