Award-winning journalist Marc Fennell plunges into the heart of manhood in Australia, exploring the online world of the manosphere, the machinery cashing in on the search for what it means to be a man and what's shaping the next generation.

The State of Man is a three-part documentary series that investigates what it means to be a man today, where algorithms, influencers and online communities are reshaping contemporary views on manhood.

Triggered by seeing how quickly his kids’ YouTube algorithm could go from Pokémon to sensationalised podcast clips, Marc embarks on a journey through a sprawling online world reshaping how Australian men see themselves.

Starts Tuesday 13 October at 8pm on ABC TV and ABC iview.
