After more than 100 days out of the water, the Leeuwin is getting a fresh lease on life with major restoration work below deck.
STS Leeuwin II has spent more than 100 days out of the water at the Australian Marine Complex Western Australia for repairs after the ship was struck by a container vessel at its berth in Fremantle Harbour.
It's also a chance for Leeuwin to have its scheduled repair, restoration and preservation work brought forward.
The sail-training tall ship will soon have new masts, rigging, sails and a fresh coat of paint – but many crucial changes are to be found under the waterline and below deck, thanks to support from Seaready Maritime Maintenance Solutions.
Join Leeuwin’s Operations Manager, Maximiliano Lavin, for an exclusive guided tour of the hard work being done to bring this iconic barquentine back to the water for the summer sailing season.
