What happens when we all work together to tackle the gendered issues that impact everyone?

When we talk about gender equality, most people think of the systemic barriers facing women and girls — and there are many.

But gendered expectations and societal norms shape the lives of everyone.

Men and boys, too, navigate a set of often rigid and outdated beliefs about what masculinity should look like. These beliefs can limit how they connect, express care, and seek support.

At the same time, the need to give and receive care is universal.

So what would it look like to promote a healthier form of masculinity, one that supports true gender equality, where men can care and be cared for, and where that shift benefits everyone?

This is the focus of Equimundo, a global leader working to engage men and boys alongside women, girls and people of all gender identities to create more equitable societies — and to help end cycles of violence.

Their work spans fostering positive online environments, supporting active fatherhood and men’s caregiving, raising boys to be caring men, and addressing issues such as loneliness, suicide and violence.

At its core, this work is about creating healthier pathways for men and boys, and in doing so, strengthening outcomes for families and communities.

That’s why we’re partnering with Equimundo to advance gender equality and promote healthy masculinities in Australia and globally.

As part of this partnership, we will adapt leading global research to the Australian context, including new national reports on the State of Australian Men, Boys and Fathers. These insights will help strengthen programs, inform policy and support healthier outcomes for families and communities.

We will also launch Australia’s first MenCare Changemaker Journey, bringing together leaders across government, media, sport, civil society and business to pilot practical solutions and accelerate progress.

Together, this work aims to contribute to lasting systems change and a future where gender equality benefits everyone.

This partnership sits alongside Minderoo’s broader investment in women and girls in Australia and globally, with gender-based violence addressed as a shared priority across all areas of work.
